Hi people. Well, hello from Oz. I got here this am after a long night of flights (changing at Darwin where customs kindly cleaned my muddy shoes??). I got to my hostel at about 10am and tried to sleep but everyone else was getting up and being busy and the sun was a bit intense so instead I\'ve spent most of my day at the Esplande - they have this great swimming lagoon by the sea (you can\'t swim in the sea here) and it\'s completely free of charge. I\'m staying at a pretty good hostel in central Cairns - Cairns Girls Hostel - and as it\'s all girls, it\'s lovely and clean and very peaceful. Only thing is I\'m sharing a dorm with a couple of girls who don\'t speak much English so will have to suss out the other girls here too and see if I can hook up with one or two in order to sample the Cairns nightlife later. It\'s bloody hot here and I\'m hopefully loosing all the weight I put on in Asia through pure sweat but I think the weather is just going to get hotter for me as I\'ve booked a trip (3 days/2 nights) to Cape Tribulation which for those who don\'t know is basically the jungle on sea. I leave here early Sunday morning (don\'t think Cairns is a great place to stay I see it as more a place to hook up and decide where to go) and after the tour I\'m going to spend a couple of days in Port Douglas then who knows. Well that\'s about it for now - I\'m a bit jaded from lack of sleep and really need a shower (and a fag which I have to go outside for). Keep in touch everyone, it\'s nice to hear from home. Viv xxx
