April 21 - Brook - Today was a half day of conference for the Rotarians. We were invited to participate or were allowed to have a day off. We all decided to independently do our own thing. I decided to take a walk after breakfast to Paihia from Waitangi along the beach. It was a lovely peaceful morning. I spent the morning in Paihia looking around the shops and doing some last minute shopping for friends and family at home. Then I met up with Becca and we had a picnic lunch together. After this the Rotarians were finished with the conference so I met up with Peter and Sally Ross at the ferry terminal and we went over to Russell to check out this historic capital of New Zealand. It was a pretty sleepy little town and this time of year with tourist season wrapping up.
