We are having a quiet lazy sort of day. After a latish start we drove into Rapid City to replenish our groceries. We took the opportunity to visit the Chapel in the Hills,a small chapel that duplicates one in Norway. It was very different. I'll post some pictures when I get to a place with stronger wifi signal. They even had a small museum with statues of Oly and Lena out front. For anyone not familiar with Oly and Lena they are a fictional old couple who are the source of many a Norwegian joke.
After lunch we drove through Deadwood, a very touristy place. We didn't even try to stop. Then we drove a beautiful scenic road through some of the Black Hills. Where our roads near home say deer crossing, here is watch for big horn sheep. (I must admit I slept most of the way but Dale assures me it was very picturesque.)
The hills are covered in pine and spruce. These are the first large forested areas we have seen since West Virginia. We even saw a few log trucks.
We made one stop at a local winery and tasted a bunch of fruit wines. Some were pretty good. We even got to try the Bad Ass Rhubarb which tasted a lot like rhubarb.
Now we are camped for the night and tomorrow it's off to see the presidents.

Christine Delaney Seeing as you did not stop in Deadwood, Brian and I would highly recommend the TV series "Deadwood" which is probably available on Netflix or some such. Lots of drinking and swearing but the main character spoke with language reminiscent of Shakespearean English. Pour yourself a glass of whiskey and enjoy!
