Day 47 Quebec (again)
As there were two other ships in port today our ship was not at the main dock just off Old Quebec. We were about a 10 minute walk away. There was shuttle transport to the old town hall for those less mobile.
After breakfast we headed into Old Quebec. We were quite surprised that the pretty little main street in Old Quebec did not have a lot of people filling the street so we were able to get some good photos. It was still rather early so the lighting was subdued.
Soon enough the tour guides with their entourage were out and about. In speaking with a couple of shop staff we were advised that while there may be a lot of people in the streets, there are few who go into the shops as they are generally on a tour and have no time to shop.
The buildings of Old Quebec have been well developed in the period of the time. It gives you some appreciation of the style back then. I would suggest that the streets are much cleaner now than they were in the earlier days.
After wandering around the streets for the morning we then headed back to the ship for lunch. After lunch we sat in the port terminal and made use of their free wifi to catch up with sending emails and posting several days of blog. It beat paying US$7.50 for 15 minutes.
Tonight's dinner was in the Pinnacle Grill. This is one that usually is an extra charge but we had been given a complimentary dinner courtesy of our travel agent. The steaks were nicely cooked and we came away with a need to fast for the next day.
We departed Quebec just after 5pm
