My legs are covered in mosquito bites again from the other night at Caves House. Despite my legs being super itchy and the extreme heat, I slept like a baby last night :) Except I was awake really early but that was probably due to the fact I was moving on today.
Nicole and I headed down to Cottesloe for breakfast, to a cafe that was really popular. We had to wait a wee while for a table but we had given ourselves plenty time. It was so busy that the specials had all sold out, so lucky for me it left me with my healthy option of museli and fresh fruit again :) Our timing was perfect, we headed back to her house to collect my bags and then out to the airport for 11.30am. I was actually sad to be leaving Australia, and sad to be leaving Nicole. I really hope I am able to meet up with her when she comes over to Europe in the summer. It was sad saying our goodbyes.
Ok so my first flight was from Perth to Brisbane! Yes I know if you look at a map, it is completely ridiculous and insane when I'm heading to Singapore. The reason for this is that my flight from Brisbane to Singapore is on my world ticket that I purchased before leaving home, and if I didn't get on this flight it would mean my world ticket would be then be invalid plus it was too expensive to change it to a Perth/Singapore flight. The cheapest and easiest option was to get a cheap virgin flight to Brisbane and get my original flight path to Singapore. It was simple to change dates but impossible to change airports on my world ticket. Out of my whole trip this is the only journey that is backward. I had a 4 and a half hour flight with virgin Australia that left Perth at 1pm, which was really nice. The plane was half empty so I had 3 seats all to myself.
I spent most of the journey writing my blog for the last 3 days, I really hope Brisbane airport has free wifi like Perth airport as I have quite a few hours to push in. Can you tell... I am completely up to date with my blog again yay!!!! I still have these half written days though from Christmas/New Year time to catch up with grrr.
I managed to get a bus from the domestic terminal to the international terminal but I was glad I wasn't in a rush because the buses didn't come very often. I went to the Emirates desk to see if there was a locker I could put my bag into, as the board said check in opens 180 minutes before departure and I was a good 6 hours early! Haha. Luckily enough there was a lady just finishing her shift that said she would check in my bag early for me!!! I was super chuffed.
It was going to be along evening waiting for my Singapore flight that departed at 2.45am Brisbane time. From my Perth flight landing and the Singapore flight taken off I had 7 hours 15 minutes to push in with no wifi! The joys of travelling. A ten minute phone call to Mum and Dad didn't make much difference but watching the Inbetweeners for the first time made a slight dent in the 7 hours :) and yes I was laughing out loud like an idiot. Thank goodness the airport was empty and no one was around about me. A couple... or more like 7 sudoku's later also pushed in some time. Before I knew it it was 1.30am.
This flight wasn't full either, so the couple that were sitting next to me moved into the middle isle as it was completely empty which left me with 3 seats to myself again so I could lie out and get a good sleep. I had really chatty people around me, with a guy behind me who was on his way home to London after a years travelling and a lady in front of me with 2 children who were also heading straight to London. I got to know them both really well haha.
I had no valiums this time to get me through my overnight flight so let's hope I can sleep. It was a 7 hour 20 minute flight to Singapore! xxx
