We arrived in the afternoon of Christmas Eve to Olly and Natalies house in Bendigo. They are friends of Nikki from the Isle of Man. We parked the campervan outside their very nice house. Inside were two more people from the Isle of Man called Simon and Hannah. They had come over from Sydney. Hannah and Natalie were busy making food for the next day so we just unpacked. We actually got a room to ourselves which meant we didnt have our first night in the campervan just yet. That evening we had a pasta bake for dinner which was delicious and played a few card games before going to bed about midnight.Considering we had not been to sleep the night before we had done well to last that long.
We woke up about 9am and had a lovely cup of tea. I rang my parents even though it was still Christmas Eve there. I also text my aunty as they would be having a big family meal. Next it was present time, mainly for Olly and Natalie but Natalie had bought us a small present each of lip balm so we had something to unwrap, which was really nice of her. Niki also bought us a little something as well so I had two presents to unwrap. It was a nice sunny day outside so it still didnt feel like Christmas. Maybe the Christmas dinner would make us feel more Christmassy.
We had some small pastry nibbles for starters which Hannah had made. We all pulled a cracker and put on our paper hats. Olly got the turkey out of the oven and put it in the middle of the table. It looked fantastic! We had roast potatoes and parsnips, carrots, peas, pigs in blankets and of course brussel sprouts!! We also had stuffing balls home made by Nikki. All with lots of gravy made a very good meal and every single one of us was stuffed by the end.
We all then relaxed for a while. Me and Nat actually had a short nap as I think we were still catching up on our sleep. When people had just about recovered out came desert. Christmas pu7dding with cream! In the evening we played more card games which turned into drinking games. The best one being "spoons." Each spoon became assigned to a drink. So which ever spoon you grabbed you had to drink that drink. Later we played a game where you had to bounce a coin into a glass and then pass the glass to the next person. There were two glasses in the circle and if the second glass caught you up, you were the loser and had to drink. It was quite hard but fun. I was the first one to go to bed at about 1:30am.
The next day we had a lie in until about 12 and even then didnt actually get up properly. We sat inthe lounge, still in our Pyjamas and Natalie brought us a sausage sandwhich and a cup of tea. We watched films all afternoon and had a lazy evening of just chatting. It was still midnight when we went to bed though.
The next morning we got up and had a very nice breakfast of scrambled eggs and toast. We then packed up our things, said thank you to Olly and Natalie for having us and set off in the campervan to make our way to Sydney for New Years Eve!
