So we didnt have the best of days yesterday - we are now in a town called Melaka - we were very happy when we arrived here as we found a great night market and got to do some good shopping (we have been hunting for a decent market since we arrived in Malaysia as most of theirs are full of fake prada bags etc ...not our kind of thing!). So we spent a great evening in the market - the other great thing is the Malay people are so relaxed - not trying to force their goods down your throat! Then we found a lovely place to have dinner - so we thought this was a great town! But it went down hill..the next day (yesterday) we went for a walk around and had a wander into a shopping mall - we decided to be naughty and have a McDonalds...when we were sitting eating a man came and asked us a question, we answered then went to get up when Rach realised her bag had been stolen! Panic set in - we were very good and found a help desk straight away and they got the police - we sent all afternoon then in 3 different police stations (dont ask me why!) and then the rest of the afternoon cancelling credit cards/mobile phones/ringing insurance! She didnt lose her passport, but her gorgeous camera, mp3 player, wallet (with not much money in thankgod), and a few other things were in the bag so it was very upsetting! But Rach handled it really well and we are not letting the idiot who nicked it ruin things for us! We are determinded to get it all sorted without too much expenditure! And hopefully get a replacement camera and mp3 player!
