Day 70 - 75: 22nd September - 27th September: La Paz, Bolivia
La Paz, is the main capital of Bolivia; although due to how corrupt Bolivia is they can not decided whether la Paz or Sucre is the main capital!! I arrived in La Paz via a night bus from Sucre, as the sun rose across the mountains it lit up the whole of the valley - in which the city is located between. I arrived at the bus station disorientated and tired, after negotiating a taxi fare to take me to the hostel in which I was staying for the next four nights I finally arrived checked in. I was greated with breakfast - standard Bolivian food Bread with butter and jam, I ate that and got into bed to catch up on the loss sleep from the night bus. That afternoon I ventured out into the big hilly city. After getting very very lost for a few hours I found a restaurant to get some dinner and beer and headed back to my bed. The next day I woke up late, obviously needed some sleep and then I decided to head to the San Francisco church and the coca museum - they were both pretty interesting, that evening I decided to experience the night life of La Paz, which was insane. Sunday = very hungover and tired so I decided just to go for a short walk along the famous road el Pardo - they really was not much there. I decided an early night would be good as I was going to be cycling the death road on the Monday - the most dangerous road in the world and I had to be at the office for 7:30am.
Monday morning finally came, I was slightly nervous and worried about my ability in cycling, but it was all booked and I was on the way. It was one of the most amazing things that I have every done - it was so intense as well as excellerating. After the cycling we stopped off at a hotel and had lunch and a swim. It was a very enjoyable but scary experience.
The next day I checked out of the hostel and move to join a tour that I booked from England, to take me from La Paz, Bolivia to Lima, Peru - this was to be the last 21 days of my trip L. I hoped that the people would be nice. I had already met a couple that were going to be on the tour in Potosi - they seemed cool.
I arrived at the hotel to find that the person who I was sharing a room with for the next 3 weeks had taken the key out with her so I could not get into the room -not the best start. I decided to walk around La Paz for my fifth day in a row - I was not really a fan of La Paz - too hilly. We had a meeting at 6pm and met the tour leader and then all went out for dinner and a few drinks that evening, which was good everyone seemed cool. It was another early night as had to get a bus at 4:30am.
