Well we have been so busy these last couple of days we don't know where to start. Where did we get up to...oh yeah the train down to KL was long and uncomfortable, always opt for the sleeper beds not just seats.
Arrived in KL at about 9am and got a taxi to our hostel. When we saw the outside we were a bit worried but the inside was really nice. Ended up with a 4 bed girls dorm to ourselves for 2 nights which was a bonus. We dumped our stuff and asked the girl at reception for a map. She was amazing and drew us a map practically free hand and the directions were spot on...we found everywhere. It was in such a good location we could walk to most attractions.
We then went to the BAtu caves just outside KL, these were so cool and climbing the 272 steps was very tiring esp in the heat. THis was our first experience with wild monkies too, and we have a little story about that!!!!
On the way back down i (vicky) was going on ahead as sarah was scared of the height she was going slow. There was a really tiny monkey on its own crying out. I decided i wanted to take a photo so bent down to do it, then i heard the mummy monkey 'growling' and it started to run down the steps at me, i screamed and started to run. It grabbed at my shorts and luckily didn't hurt me. I was down te rest of the stairs like a shot. Sarah was absoultly wetting herself laughing and climbed over to the next set of stairs as she didn't want to pass the monkey. SHe said that my face was a picture. We still keep laughing now about it.
We were absoultly knackered so went and got changed for dinner and then walked around Time square area a bit and went back to have a sleep as we got up really early the next day to get our free tickets to the Sky bridge on the Petronas twin towers.
Walked to the twin towerss to get our ticket then it wasn't until 12.15pm so went to have breakfast and then walked to the KL tower. The views from up here were amazing of the city and then the views from the Petronas towers were equally amazing. Sarah has been very brave with all the heights we have done. Sarah broke her flip flop walking that day it was another funny moment that you had to be there to find it funny i suppose. We then went to the largest Mall i have every seen with 10 stories it was too big really and we got a bit annoyed with it as we couldn't find our way around. There is even a theme park inside and of course we went on the rollercoaster it was great fun. We also went to the Cinema that night which made a nice change. We decided to splash out on dinner and went to Planet Hollywood, thought it was gonna be expensive but think it worked out ot 18 pounds for both meals.
We then caught a bus to Singapore which took about 6 hours, another country stamp in our passports!! This bus we thought would drop us somewhere in the city then we would be able to get a taxi to the hostel. No it dropped us at some Mall where we had know idea where it was it wasn't in the guide book and a couple of Taxi's didn't even no where the area we were staying was. MAnaged to get a free shuttle to a train station and then got a taxi from there, we didn't care how much it was! We had been dropped so far away from the city about 25mins we couldn't believe it. I suppose there are worse places to be dumped but we got here in one peice!!
The hostel is really nice and meet some cool people. Went on a free tour of Little India where we are staying, as it is Deevali festival (featival of light) it is heaving and really lively. Went to the Banana leaf resturant with a few people from our hostel, you eat off a banana leaf and can eat with yours has too. This was a really nice meal and fun chatting to others about there travels.
We have visited Raffles and had a SIngapore Sling and threw peanut shells on the floor in the Long bar as littering is encouraged here and not illegal like everywhere else. We then got a bus to Singapore Zoo which was the best Zoo i have ever been too. The animals aren't in cages and it is all open especially the monkeys. THe best part was the Orangetans that were hanging all over you in the trees, we had our photos with them. The NIght safari was the best and a little scary walking around a zoo in the dark. THe tram around was good as you get to see loads of animals. THe Creatures of the night show was really good and there was a cute wolf who was shy at the bigenning and wouldn't howl. there was a tribal dance show which was so good with firethrowing and swallowing.
Lastly today we went to Sentosa island, this has so much cool stuff to do we got a cable car across to see the views. We did a stupied 3d movie ride thing whcih was a bit rubbish. Underwater world and the Dolphin lagoon was real good fun seeing the sharks and fishes. The best thing on the island was the luge ride which was great fun and worth the money we spent. We hung around on the beach and saw the SOunds of the sea show. THis was a fire and lazer show which was a bit cheezy but good fun.
As you can see we have been very busy and spending lots of pennies but its all worth it. Can't believe we fly to OZ tomorrow eve and a month has gone past.
