Day Ten / South Island

Franz Josef has so many different activities to do we were spoilt for choice; we opted for a heli tour with a snow landing on the glacier! It was fab; the snow was so deep we could hardly walk and the views were spectacular. After that we decided to head to Wanaka which was about another 4 hours.

Wanaka -Wouldn't go back in a hurry, we weren't that impressed. The campsite was great though five stars! Views over the lake and mountains and the added luxury of under floor heating in the shower block bliss! Only down side was that it was a bit out of town (Aspiring campsite). The owners of the site drove us into town so we could get some tea, which was really good of them. We ended up in bar playing pool, the guy behind the bar said if we didn't get a cab before nine; the company wouldn't go there to pick us up as he would get bombarded! Think it was bit rough so we left before nine.
