Saturday, finally a day with no schedule! Sarah, Kaitlyn, Caroline, Erica, Shayna, and I decided to go to the restaurant that Mary had suggested to us, Jackie Lennox. Getting there, however was not so easy. We kind of wandered around lost for a bit. But when we asked a local he gave us directions and we found it! She gave us the suggestion to go there for fish and chips. Being the boring eater I am, I did not get fish I got a cheese burger. The chips aka French fries were really good there. After we finished eating we headed into the city for some shopping. We went into a small jewelry shop named Silverwood Jewelry. Sarah and I got claddagh rings (which I love). We walked around for a bit longer and then went grocery shopping. We packed our groceries into our backpacks and trekked back to Farranlea from the city. That night the UCC student union was hosting an international night at the Old Oak Bar. The place was ginormous. We didn't stay for long, but it was fun for a bit.

On Sunday Mary took us to the Cork City Gaol (aka Jail). From the steps of the jail you could see so much of the city. The jail looked like a castle from the inside. The inside of the jail was FREEZING. The jail was cool though. After our tour we walked back to Farranlea and enjoyed the warmth from our apartment (because if I remember correctly we figured out the heat by this point). We spent the night in relaxing and preparing for our first day of classes the next morning.
