Rick came back this morning and found squatters (us) still living in his home. He had to come home on Sunday morning for work the next day while Holly and Henry remained in Minnesota for another week. We all went out to an awesome bistro in Boulder for breakfast. We were able to catch up with Rick, which was really nice since we hadn't seen him in a while. I played rugby with Rick and Erin was his neighbor in college. So much has changed now that both of us are married and have kids. Rick is one of those geniunely kind, extremely thoughtful, and incredibly generous people that you want to have in your life. It was nice to connect again and we vowed to get both of our families together soon.
Afterwards, we wandered around the town. It's such a cool place- a lot like Santa Barbara, but in the Rockies. There's a nice walking mall that spans several blocks with lots of restaurants, shops, and street performers. We took our time wandering through the different stores and buying a couple of things. Dark clouds began to swirl overhead and we watched lightning strike as we checked out the West End Tavern. Next, we went to the Avery Brewery and sampled some of their award-winning beers. There, we talked about how we wanted to get the guys of our rugby team together for an annual reunion. It would be so awesome to get everyone back together each year for a big trip. We plan on working out the details soon.
Erin still wasn't at a hundred percent that day, so we stayed one more night at Casa Feger. We headed out the next day to Rocky Mountain National Forest. Thank you Rick and Holly for your generosity!
