We spent our last few days in Rio seeing more of the sights and lazing on the beach. I had a great birthday (thanks for all the messages)! We went up to Corcovoda(Christ the Redeemer) in a crazy taxi ride - don?t they know what side of the road they?re supposed to drive on?! The views over Rio were stunning. Glad we went in the day as we did Sugar Loaf during the evening so this gave a very different perspective. We also went for a walk along Capacabana and met a couple of Brazilian guys who had travelled from the centre of Rio to talk to tourists to practise their English! Spent ages talking to them about everything and they also helped me to buy some sunglasses and not get ripped-off - thanks! We went to the Botanical Gardens with a girl we met called Tiffany and spent the day wondering round - the gardens are massive. Saw loads of different trees and plants. We were surprisingly sad to be leaving Rio although we felt we?d spent long enough there. Things we will remember the most about Rio are: fried cheese, being able to see the Big Cheese from everywhere, weird smells all over the city, getting stared at all the time and Caprihinas!
