Well, we are just back from our little holiday-within-a-holiday in Washington DC! We had a really nice time and I'm completely shattered from being such a tourist for the last 2 days! Marci paid for us all to stay in a really nice hotel (these people have too much money!!) for Tuesday night and we spent all of Tuesday and Wednesday in the city. During our stay we took a tour bus so we saw all the sights such as the Capital Building, The White House (popped in for tea with George of course!), Washington Monument, The Lincoln Memorial, The Jefferson Memorial, etc etc.... We also spent alot of time in museums - Natural History, Air and Space, one about the American Indians!? Plus we went out for some delicious meals including a fondue restaurant (gotta get one of these to open at home!!!) and a place called J Pauls which had some tasty waiters as well as good food! :) All in all it was a good stay but I have to say I'm glad we were only there for two days. I'm not huge on museums myself and after all those plus alot of time looking at big buildings I found it getting a little boring! I'm really glad we went and really glad I got to see all those things but I have a feeling that somewhere like Los Angeles is going to be far more up my street! One exciting thing that happened was after being in Washington for about an hour and just arriving in the Natural History Museum the fire alarms started to go off and we all had to be evacuated! We waited outside in the rain for ages and saw firemen, police and what looked like the bomb squad(!) and then we were allowed back in. We were hoping to get on TV but no news crews turned up! Must of been a false alarm! That was our drama for the day anyway! I have been very good tonight and managed to upload some more photo's which I'm sure you'll all be very pleased about!??? At least it saves me showing them to all of you when I get home! Gotta go to bed now, one last day in Philly then off to sunny California!!! Can't wait! Night Night! Love Laura xxx
