Early morning started with a tour of The Lion Monument in Lucerne. Mark Twain described The Lion monument as "the most mournful & moving piece of stone in the world." It was built as a tribute to the mercenarys who fought for Switzerland. On to Basel (Switzerland's second largest city)where we visited the Basel Munster cathedral & enjoyed a picnic -sandwiches, fresh fruits & cheeses from the Fischmarkt. Last stop -photo op where Germany, Switzerland & France meet. On to the Amacello to begin our enchanting cruise.
