Day one 15 the march 2005. Got up nice and early (William 6am,james 7am )a girl needs beauty sleep. We arrived in Portsmouth ,put in lane with loads of large motor homes. Ferry ride was dull! Dull! Dull! , forgot to pick up the map from the trooper. So on arrival at le harve quickly got to grips with the map thing on the laptop and turns out it is really easy to use and told us exactly where to go with directions.( in a nice way ) Drove straight to the camp site which is 1.5 hours or 80 miles so not bad going and of course a bit of luck. Wills drove because james is too nervous of angry French men . Put awning up , the right way and with not to much trouble although realised we had park on the nice soft turf and then had to try and push pegs in to hard core where the should have been ( lesson no 1 park on the right side of the pitch) Went shopping at local super market and bought lovely steak and salad etc ,got back to sight and hooked up eventually with madam's help "oui there is power " so why did van not work ? We had not plugged in the socket enough , shame on us !!! Whilst cooking lovely steak realised it smelt like liver , james thought it was but had never seen cows liver before " tasty but very disappointing this clearly lesson no 2 , get food phase book.
