I left Auckland for the airport at 12.20pm, arrived in plenty of time to catch my 3.55pm flight to Nadi, Fiji. The flight was 3 hours long and pretty bumpy in places, but nothing too bad, besides I had my own tv screen to keep me occupied. Arrived in Nadi at 7pm and after clearing customs and getting my bags I was greeted by a traditional Fijian band and given a shell necklace. Got my shuttle to the hotel and made friends with the shuttle driver who made me give him my address so he could 'write to me' despite telling me for about an hour about how he was really desperate to leave Fiji and just needed someone to sponsor him :-S oh dear!
Arrived at my accommodation for the next 8 days the Beachouse hostel in Korelevu, Coral Coast, first impressions were good. I am in a 4 share bure which is clean enough despite being a bit basic. Was sharing with 2 German girls but they left a couple of days later to chase the sun to Nadi.
The first day on Saturday was a bit wasted really, it rained pretty much all day and didn't really have a lot to do so just read my book and had a bit of a wander around the complex. On Sunday it was sunny so I jumped out of bed bright and early, had free breakfast and settled down to do some hardcore sunbathing. Fiji is absolutely gorgeous when it's nice weather, and the hostel is right on the beach which is great. Today (Sunday) it has been raining again, but I spent half the day making a coconut bracelet and sanding off half the skin on my hands, so today has been good really. Hoping the weather picks up a little, I am quite hopeful as there is blue sky at the moment. Planning on having a bula massage and maybe a trip to a local village or something while I'm here, but all in all just going to have a chilled out week before I hit one last week of madness and go in LA!
Love to all.

Ps, since my laptop is not working I can't put my last New Zealand blog on, and have decided to put all the photo's on when I get back home, which is less than two weeks!
