Hi Elaine! Yes - eventually made it - hope you're prepared 'cause it's really bloody hot up here!!! Have devised an ingenious strategy to assist with the heat though - all the pubs are really over-air-conditioned, so sit in one of them for an hour or so until you're quite chilly and then back out in the exterior-oven to the lagoon for another hour or until the point of melting, then back to the pub - it's all good! Andy's up here at the moment, making a name for himself 'grinding' the night away on the tables of The Woolshed till the wee hours of the morning - ha ha. Missed Paul by a day again so won't see him until god-knows-when now - he's flying to Thailand out of Brisbane I think and has lost his mobile, suprise suprise. So - I'm off now to catch the airport shuttle for my flight to Darwin - Yay!!!! It's gonna be so hot up there I think I'll just have to barracade myself in the pub for a week and be done with it! Hey Tar.. hope you got there ok in the end!!! I arrvied in Airlie at 6am this morning after getting on at 9pm last night and that was enough for me.. so I feel very sorry for you... I forgot what it feels like to do some proper overnight travelling its been so long.... I'm sure the 24hr bus journey in Peru was no where near as bad!!! anyhow... still can't check into room so totally knackered.. you've have thought hostels would have that sorted by now!!..

Off on the whits tomorrow looking forward to it, and proper food.. I havent had a proper meal since you cooked for me!!! hahah how things change.

Hi Elaine. STILL on the road - can you belive that? Good God. Have just stopped for lunch in the middle of nowhere. Still 5 hours from Cairns (it's 13:45 and I left at 20:00 last night!!!!!!) It's bloody hot up here anyway - roasting! Have had no film on the coach either but at least had a double seat all to myslef - tried out your trick of sprawling out and pretending to be asleep whenever the coach stopped to let new people on and it worked a treat! So, the boredom continues...................... By the way, Airley looked quite nice at 06:00am this morning - lots of boats out on the water and stuff. James e-mailed and said to say hi to 'Laney' so there you go. Hope your bus trip isn't as mind numbing as mine - hopefully you'll get to sit next to another gangsta rappa - ha ha. Tar xx

Hi Andy! Glad to hear your chilling out and that you caught up with Ann Marie. I caught up with her and Sophie in Hervey Bay - thank God or else I'd have been bored out of my head there!!! I'm in 1770 at the moment with Elaine which is great - feels like I haven't seen her for months! We spent all last night gossiping whilst she was supposed to be studying for her diving course - it turns out we've completely swapped roles since we've been apart - I cooked her dinner and everything!!! Well, this time next week I'll be with Rebecca in Darwin - can't wait to see her as you can imagine, we've booked a twin room so we don't drive everyone in the dorm mental with our all-night-gossip sessions that I'm sure we'll be having! Still having fun myself and i imagine you will catch me up soon? Met up with Ann Marie and her sister which was nice, im sure you know because she told me she emailed you two, so make sure you meet up with her too! Anyway just to let you know that the Whitsundays are amazing and im so relaxed now its hard to get up and do anything! Your going to have a great time! Just put more pickys of recent camping trips on the site... it turrentially rained on both of them... think I'll give camping a wide birth for a while ( until alice springs anyway!) 4 nights camping in the rain out of 7 days has taken its toll.. you'll have to recent the postcard update for more stories of my WILD WET ADVENTURES!

Hi Karl - yes, Elaine is the only one updating the website - if you remember you very kindly took my digital camera back to England for me!!!! Having to make do with a disposable one at the moment!! I'm in Noosa now, just North of Brisbane - heading up to Rainbow Beach tommorrow. Have just spent the afternoon treking for 5hrs through rainforest in the National Park - started chucking it down 2 hrs in and I was wearing a sundress! You'd think I'd have been more prepared being a seasoned trekker and all - I think the clue was in the word RAIN forest! Oh well, had fun anyway. Take care - enjoy your training, sorry your having crap weather, at least it's still hot here when it rains, Ha Ha!
