Goa!
I landed in Goa and headed to a hostel I had booked online just before the flight called "jungle hostel" it was in the north of Goa, the "party area"!
The hostel was of a good standard for Indian hostels and was right in the jungle away from the road so nice and quiet for once! The hostel was busy and I was welcomed by a large group of Americans, British and of course... Germans!!
I still had the headache so I decided to stay in that night, plenty more nights I could go out on this trip!
The next few days I spent on the beach near to the hostel with a few different people! It was so nice to be off the "road" for a few days! Since I left the tour group it's been really busy!
The north end of Goa really wasn't all that it's cracked up to be. It's a nice place but it's about 10 years past it's high days. The local government introduced a law that said you can't have loud music after 10pm! So all the parties end really early!! No more party's in Goa!
I met a polish girl who had been living in America and England for a large part of her life so she spoke very good English. We decided we wanted to head south to palolem beach. We had heard a lot of good things about the area so we booked a taxi and headed down!
Palolem is the place you think about when you hear about Goa! It had the most beautiful beach and we managed to get a hut right on the front! This area had parties and great Goan seafood!
Paradise and great company to go with it! Every night we would watch the sun set with a cocktail in hand sucking on a Shisha pipe! Life is good!!
We checked out of the cabin after breakfast and the weeks stay on this beautiful beach... £10 each!!! That's what I call good value for money!
As always the worst part about traveling is the saying goodbye to all the amazing people you have met!
Magda ...... Has been a great laugh to travel with, but like I am getting use to, there is another stop with more people to meet only a few hours away! Thailand is going to be amazing and I can't wait!
I had 4 flights to catch today, the first was from Goa to Bangalore then down to kochi for my Malaysian airlines flight to kula lumpa and then Bangkok! Let's just hope my flight doesn't mysteriously disappear without a trace! I decided to fly to kochi once again to save on the long 19 hour train ride and all the problems that brings! I'm going to have to be careful not to get a reputation with the other backpackers for being a flashpacker!
I earnt the money I deserve to spend it how I want!
Today it's been 45 days since I arrived in Sri Lanka and although it's gone so fast this last month and a half it also seems like an age ago I left the UK, honestly I'm not missing the UK at all really! Of course it would be nice to see the family and James but apart from that I'm not to worried! Things are too exciting to be worried about going home just yet!
Landing in kochi is the last stop on my trip in India but also it's the end of a 2 month journey around India which started exactly a year ago! The 3rd of April 2013 Scott and myself flew into kochi for the Rickshaw run and traveled up the east coast to Shillong and now I have just completed from Delhi down to kochi in the west!
I do think india is one of the most interesting places you can visit and I highly recommend anyone to go! The bad side of things such as the unsanitary conditions or maybe the worrying food standards could be an issue but I believe they are far far out weigh and maybe even add to how interesting the country in!
