After spending a morning at a beautiful (public, yes we managed to find one!) beach in Cannes, we drove on to Nice. One piece of advice when arriving in Nice, do not try to drive into the city centre on a hot afternoon; park outside and get the train or bus or you may face a meltdown like we did. Daniel lost it after an hour of circling around the city with no parking spaces for any vehicle over 1.9m high. Having resolved to leave, we lucked upon a tight little space right next to the beach. After jumping straight into the sea to cure the overheating issue we both faced, we decided to head for the old part of the city. I had already called a friend but hadn't managed to set a meeting time or place, as luck would have it though, she jumped out from a nearby bar as we were walking past and we managed a swift pint with her before heading down the coast to Monaco.
