Went to Ha Er Bin during the freezing winter. Saw the famous and colorful ice carving and white snow carving. Other than the carving, one of the most memorable trip was to visit the wild life zoo. Jiu Zhai Gou and Huang Long in Sichuan China are the most beautiful places that I had visited. I went during last autumn and there were 4 colors of trees. The trees on the top are in white, trees in the middle are in yellow and orange, trees at the bottom are in green. The lakes are crystal clear and the mountain/tree reflections on the lake are beautiful. Do visit at my photo album on China (esp Huang Long) to look at beautiful pictures.

Huang Shan is one of the most popular mountain in China. One of the areas in Huangshan resembles the Grand Canyon in US. To go Huang Shan, you may take around 10hr train from Suzhou or slightly long than 10hr from Shanghai. If you don't understand mandarin, you better get a tour guide or sign up a tour package. Suzhou is famous for the beautiful gardens and Hangzhou is famous for its beautiful west lake. To go Hangzhou, its around 2hr car ride from Suzhou. You may take a train as well, but I am not sure how long it takes. There's a big wholesale market in Hangzhou selling clothes, bags etc. You may want to try your luck bargaining to get good deals.

To go Suzhou, you may take a train from shanghai. Fastest train is 25min and slowest train is 2hr. Becareful of what type of ticket that you buy as it may make a lot of difference. Based on 2007 pricing, ticket for 2hr journey is around 7RMB (S$1.40) and ticket for 25min journey is around 25RMB (S$5) depending on the type of seats. There're first class and second class seats.
