My journey to Kerala began with a 3.5 hour wait in the bus station for a bus that I was told would "be here in a minute". I think the bus conductors do this on purpose just for a laugh! After 7 hours and 4 local buses to travel 65km (and a drunk old Indian guy who found it hilarious to say "no problem" repeatedly) we arrived in Gokarna, a small coastal town in the state of Karnataka, Southern India. The journey involved a local bus from Hampi to Hospet, a coach from Hospet to Bangalore and another local bus from Bangalore to Mysore - a total of 17 hours travel on the bus!
