Sunday, June 9: After lots of hugs and kisses and "see you soons", Kate took me to the airport. Everythng went smoothly, the plans were on time, my luggage arrived, and I am home with my swollen "airplane feet" propped up ready to look at the mail and newspapers from the last week --although I did read most of the news on line.It was a wonderful week with our Israelis. Thursday, June 6: Kate and I spent the morning together first in the Old City and then at Machane Yehudah, the huge open air shouk (market). There is also the Old City Light Festivali going on at the moment. We saw several of the installations, but did not go at night to see them alight. The "season" has started, and the Old City was packed with tourists in groups of every size. The shouk was also quite busy. We had a delicious lunch at a tiny Indian restaurant, ...

Tuesday, June 4: I slept late, then spent the remainder of the morning catching up on some volunteer stuff by email. In the late afternoon I went with Kate and Sapir to the theatre. The Hirsch Theater is in Beit Shmuel, the building where Kate and Ofer got married. I didn't realize there was a theatre there. It is very nice and seats about 300.
