The last few days in Australia have been really good! Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast was lovely despite the rain. We got there in the evening from Rainbow Beach so just had a look around and cooked tea and chilled out in the hostel. On our second day there we had a surf lesson in the morning. It was so much fun! Mel was teachers pet and stood up quite a few times where as I needed a bit of extra attention but managed to stand up on my last two waves! A successful morning! We then had a walk around the town and got to see a lot more of it. It's got all the standard surf shops and a nice waterfront! The following day we went to Wet 'n' Wild (water park). We had such a ball! And definitely tested our sense of adventure with some of the rides!
On Monday we made our last trip on the Greyhound up to Brisbane. It was a pretty miserable day but we made the most of it and went into town and had a look around the museum and crossed over the bridge in our ponchos! It looked a bit like London in that weather.
Tuesday was our last day in Australia! So where better to spend it than Australia Zoo! The sun came out and it was a lovely day. On the transfer up to the zoo we watched Steve Irwins movies to really get us in the mood. The zoo was amazing! All the enclosures were pretty big and we saw so many animals! The crocs were class. We held an alligator which was really cool and cause no one was queuing we got to spend extra time with it and talk to the zoo staff. We managed to catch a couple of the shows and feelings which were really well done and we fed LOADS of kangaroos! And saw a joey koala! It was all really amazing! CRIKEY! What a day!
We flew to New Zealand on Wednesday morning and arrived safely in Auckland! Chilled out and went to the pub in the evening where we managed to win beer pong and cash ourselves a $50 bar tab!
