We arrived in Wellington to the worst weather on record since 1968 when a ship sank. So, the Ferry to cross the Cook Strait was cancelled. As we don't have much time we booked the short flight over to try and get on the original bus we should have been on on the other side. However, when we arrived at Wellington airport the airport was closed so we got rescheduled for today's flight giving us a day in windy Wellington. And windy it was! We nearly got blown over multiple times! We spent the morning in the Te Papa museum which was really good! They had an earthquake simulator and a colossal squid! We then did some shopping for warm clothes as this storm is coming up from the Antarctic and its freezing! In the afternoon we went up on the cable car. It was really fun and the views were good! It was pretty chilly though. In the evening we had a bus night and most people from our kiwi experience his came down and we all watched a movie together at the hostel.
Today we just chilled out and we went to the airport about 3. Our flight left just after 4 and it was so much fun! We had 11 people on the flight and it was amazing. You could see into the cockpit and watch the man fly the plane. We had so much fun. When we landed a shuttle bus took us to the hostel and the two men driving it were hilarious! Really funny and chatty! We then bought some soup and had a night chilling out!
