Today we went out and explored Picton. It is a beautiful town on the edge of the water with the mountains surrounding the sides of it. There's a marina with boats in and it is just stunning! This is what I imagined all of New Zealand to be like. It's so picturesque! I just wanted to take photos of everything. In the afternoon we went on a winery tour seeing as we were in Marlborough. Our driver was very informative about the surrounding areas and the wine. The whole area is stunning. As we got out of Picton we were surrounded by vineyards and further out were snow capped mountains, it was just so beautiful. We went to four wine cellars: Cloudy Bay, Seresin, Framingham and Giessen. And tried three or more different wines in each. The area is most famous for its Sauvignon Blanc. They were very delicious! Then we tried Rieslings, Chardonnays, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and a Viognier. On the way back to Picton, we stopped at a boutique chocolate factory and got a little taster but it was so expensive to buy anything! We arrived back in Picton, a little tipsy, and had some tea and watched movies in the hostel. Tomorrow we get back onto the Kiwi Experience bus and continue down the South Island.
