I was up early to catch the 8:58 train to London Victoria station. It makes a difference when you're familiar with the process and have lots of time to spare when you travel.
I hung out with some friends and went to lunch. They showed me around their neighbourhood and talked about all the new development. Seems like there is lots of growth in London, England.
We headed to the metro and said out goodbyes. It's better to have seen them then not at all, even if it was a short visit.
The flight back to Lisbon was good and loved the fact that I didn't check any luggage. Only carry on as I packed minimally. That is definitely the way to travel.
The subway ride was a bit of a nightmare and so was the ferry trip across the river. I misread the subway sign and went the wrong way which ended up adding 15 minutes to my time. Because of that, I ended up missing the ferry ride by one minute and then had to wait an hour for the next one. It was midnight by the time the boat arrived. My phone wasn't working. No wifi. No network connection with my UK SIM card. I was frustrated. I couldn't message Peter to update him. Plus it was raining soi would be soaked if I walked back to his apartment.
To my surprise, he was waiting for me with his brother in law. They drove back to the apparent and I prepped my luggage for the last day of travel. Only 4 hours sleep. It will be a long long day tomorrow.
