So, let me get this right; Death Valley is not that interesting really, just used to have the world record for the hottest place on Earth, recently lost to some barren hole in Libya. Seriously, this place is beautiful. The rocks are every colour of the rainbow and there are so many interesting facts and figures to this unique place. We travelled around by car mainly due to the heat on the valley floor, but there are some stunning drives - Artists Drive, Zabriskie...

The car was the star today, as we drove a full 10hrs from Yosemite to Death Valley. Unfortunately, the Tioga Pass over the Sierra Nevada Mountains was still closed due to snow, so this meant that we had to drive all around the mountain range to get to the valley on the other side. Great countryside, but I was glad to arrive at our hotel (The Ranch at Furnace Creek) a little after 7pm. Air con on, shower and bed. Having a look around Death Valley tomorrow.
