I am writing this as the sun comes up from our hotel room in Oak Creek, Sedona. We had a fantastic day yesterday, and so had little time to update the blog. Rising early from the hotel at Lake Powell, we packed up the car and checked out of the room ready to take our pre-booked boat trip up the lake to Rainbow Bridge National Monument. The structure in the blog photo is one of the largest natural bridges in the world (nearly as tall as the Statue of Liberty) and is sacred to the Navajo. On the journey there, which lasted 2hrs, we saw some fantastic lake and canyon scenery. The lake itself has actually been formed from the damming of the head of the lake at Page. Underneath the boat is a natural canyon (Glen Canyon) which is just north of Grand Canyon. We spent a few hrs taking photo's, but unfortunately, the camera's battery ran out half-way through - it's trying to tell me something! Once docked again at the hotel, we made our way (through a sandstorm on highway 89) to the next stop at Sedona. Tomorrow is a pool day!
