You can fly to Prague from the Uk in just a few hours (unless you're flying with Ryanair) but it took us 39 days with 31 days of pedalling 1382 miles with 64,000 feet of climbing! Prague is over run with tourists and certainly not as cheap as it used to be. We have had one day off here and had our fill of Baroque and Gothic buildings (show us some green hills please). Well it took us longer than planned to cross Germany but we finally did it. We did take a longer route than planned though. We left Germany via the Elbe, not as pretty as the Moselle but still very scenic. Another new language coming our way!

We expected an easy 50 mile ride from Colditz to Dresden with no major climbs however we still clocked up nearly 900 metres of ascent as the road went up and down all day.
