So we arrived in Brisbane on 22nd October and spent two days in the city walking about and exploring. We went to the Kuala zoo and i had a cuddle with a Kuala which was very different but a great experience. We walked around looking at the different animals, Tony fed the Laurikeets and we watched the birds of prey show. Was a good day out as you can see from our many pics.

We really liked Brisbane, it was a very clean and modern city and the parks and man made beach were beautiful.....a very good city to live in i would think.

After our 2 days in Brisbane, we got a train to the Gold Coast. So far, we have explored Southport, Surfers Paradise and bits of Main Beach- apart from a few windy days the weather is amazing and the beaches are quite beautiful too. We met up with Tony's old university friend Sami and her husband for dinner one evening which was really nice and they also advised us of all the cool spots to visit in Sydney which will really help - so thank you!

It's my birthday today.....23 years old - getting old now! Spending the day in the shops and maybe the beach but the evening will be spent bowling/drinking/eating and dancing the bedroom club in Surfers Paradise which im super excited for! Missing home lots though, especially today.....wish my family were here to spend my birthday with me!!

We have 2 more days on the Gold Coast then fly to Sydney for 2wks so will be in touch then... xxx
