Tom's Global Adventure
Hi everyone, I'm staying in a town called Taupo at the moment and after waiting for 6 months I finally did my skydive and it was unbelievable! I decided to jump from 15000 feet up and I was free falling through the air for a whole 60 seconds before the parachute opened up and trust me that is a long time just falling through the air!!
I also went to the waitomo caves before here and went black water rafting which is where we went caving under ground with wetsuits and rubber rings and followed the stream through the mountain and came out the other side. The water was so cold we had to wear an all over wetsuit with thermal lining to keep warm but it was well worth it. When we got to the middle of the cave we all turned our head torches off and looked at the cave roof. Hanging from the rocks were thousands off glow worms and it looked like we were looking up at the stars in the sky I just wish I had my camera to take a picture of them all.
After we got back we all had a cool party and ended up trashing the room we were staying in so had to get up at about 6am to clean it all!
I went on a bus ride to the Tongariro crossing this morning which is suposed to be one off the best scenic walks in the world however the weather was so bad we had to turn back before getting there which I was really dissapointed about as I stayed here an extra day to do it.
I'm off to River valley tomorrow where I'm hoping to do some white water rafting which is an another adventure sport I can tick off my list.
Speak to you soon
Tom
