Hey everyone, I'm travelling through the south Island now and the scenery as we got into the Alpine region is out of this world. I'm staying in a small town called Franz Josef which is surrounded by mountains and forests with one of the lowest glaciers is the world all around the mountains. Tomorrow morning I'm doing a hike up the glacier where we have to where clampons on our shoes to help us walk on the ice, I can't wait. The white water rafting in River Valley was brilliant and it lasted for about 3 hours going down 10 grade 5 rapids on the way! I'll take loads of pictures of the glacier tomorrow and stick them on my website as soon as I can. Tom
