Another efficient bus ride meant we arrived an hour early at 8am in Buenos Aires. We headed back to Che Legarto hostel where the receptionists were pleasantly surprised to see us return. After a lazy morning we headed to Palermo, the only neighbourhood left that we hadn´t really visited. We found a nice restaurant for breakfast and Harriet was immediately put into a good mood as they served scrambled eggs, and i think she likes eggs more than shopping, and thats saying something! We walked through the neighourhood for a couple of hours and went through the botanical gardens. After we headed back to the hostel to check in at 2pm. I had a nap and awoke a few hours later to find Harriet chatting to a lad from Chile, who had a posh english accent, it was so strange, but not quite as srange as him, he definately had the weirdo alarms going! In the evening, Walter our barman friend that we worked hard a week before made us some free cocktails. However, our plan of partying with the Colombians again didnt quite work out as David had been fired that day, and Walter was treading a fine line! Unfortunately, he couldnt make it out, so Harriet, Diana and I headed to Palermo for the evening for a steady one.
Next day Harriet and I headed to the bus station to get out ticket to Mendoza for the next day. We spent the rest of the day playing table tennis and sleeping, after all rushing around buying one bus ticket in a day can take it out of you! That evening we got another UGI´s pizza and just stayed in, almost booze free.
On our final day in Buenos Aires we had a slow start to the day (again) and headed to the ecological park on the coast of Buenos Aires. We were disapointed to find it basically consists of a couple of marshes with a path around the outside. In fact Harriet was diassapointed that after 400m she turned back to find solace in a cold glass of coke, it was 35 degrees outside after all! I went for a 5k run around the park, which was probably a daft idea given the heat but felt all the better for it after. That´s 2 bits of exercise in a month and a half, so semi-respectableish! I returned suitably dripping in sweat to Harriet´s disgust and we headed back to the hostel for the final time. After one last UGI´s we were ready to get the bus to Mendoza at 5pm. We had a 15 hour journey ahead of us!
