Hey Eveyone,
I know it has been ages since my last entry, but i have been a little bit sick (understatement) ... and the computers have been a little bit slow (understatement).
I am actually in Saigon at the moment, it is pouring rain and I am about to go to dinner, but enough about Saigon for now.
Hue, is absolutely amazing, by far one of the best experiences on the trip. in the moring we went on a river cruise down the perfume river to vist a monastery where we watched monks performing the daily rituals, we also vistied a shrine dedicated to the monk that burned himself alive in protest over the suppressed all religion. After the boat trip went on a motobike/scooter trek all thru the vietnam countryside. The massive expanses of rice paddy fields and denses urban squalor are in quite contrast to each other. We visited the tomb/palace of one of the Kings of Vietnam....amazing!! He held huge amounts of concubines, had massive parties and 'arranged hunting trips' on islands the size of football fields. After the tomb we visited a fortune teller where Elise got her fortune read ....something about 5 kids ......... while all the girls were busy finding out how many kids they were going to have i visited a farming museum where an old woman with teeth as black as night showed us how the farmers farm rice , which was actually quite interesting. After the bike trek we headed out to dinner, food was spectactular, then we headed to the bar.... the beggining of a large donward spiral... will tell all next entry!!!
