Hey everyone,
Although we have only been in Singapore for 2 days we have managed to see almost all of it(it's very small). Yesterday Tom didn't feel very well so we tried not to do anything too strenious. As we only arrived at the hostel at dinnertime we decided to have a walk to the largest helium balloon in the world. We found it quite impressive so we went up in it........it was very scary 150 meters up in the air, which is about 40 floors of a building. It didn't help that the balloon kept floating around (like balloons do). I ended up sat on the floor half way through the ride, but finally stood up and the view was very good.
Today we decided to be a bit more adventurous, but really couldn't be bothered to walk anywhere, so we got on the hippo tours bus. We could just hop on and hop off when we wanted so we did the city tour, which basically took us on a tour around the city in general. We then went on the heritage tour which took us to the more cultural sights of Singapore, we found out that the reason it is called Singapore is because the first thing the man who discovered it saw was i lion so he called it Singapoura. This means lion town in Malay.....interesting eh? We then got on a completely useless tour that took us to nowhere and back. We then got on the moonlight tour that took us to an island just off Singapore called Sentora to watch a show called 'Song of the sea'. The pyrotechniques were very good, but the actors were just horrendous. They mimed the whole way through and did the biggest hand gestures that were just completley uncalled for. (it made me a little...ok a lot mad)
We will hopefully put some more pics on soon but this silly comp won't let me for now.
Hope everyone is well.
Lots of Love
Tom and Nikki
