OH MY GOD.....have just done a truly once in a lifetime thing, did the heli hike on Franz Josef Glacier which was seriously amazing!!! The Maori name for the glacier is the tears of the avalanche girl and u can see why as the glacier spreads all the way down the moutain. The views from the helicopter were awsome as we went up above the glacier which is 5000 feet and came down to land on it with views streching off for miles and miles. we walked around with huge boots on with spikes which we much needed as I nearly stacked it so many times especially having jelly knees!! Also got to go through a really narrow ice cave and went sliding through. Then got the helicopter back and the views were even better as you could see right to the coast. Will put on the photos as soon as I can as I want you all to see just how amazing this coutry is...off to hopefully do some extreme sports tomorrow, could be narly dude
