Early early morning. The group was up and queuing at the taj by 5.45am. We had a nice scenic, quiet, cow pat minefield stroll along the high street to get there. I think it is fair to say Agra was not impressing us. Highlight of the morning until then was a member of the Taj staff putting a sign with "queue for Indians" in front of me... There was a communal laugh. Immature if I say so myself...
We were first into the ground of the taj mahal. Literally the first! So essentially we had the whole grounds to take pictures with nobody else in them. It was incredible and we were no longer complaining about being tired! The building was incredible. We had to wear some shoes over our flip flops when going up the Taj which was meant a challenge was in order to see who could keep them on the longest. The girls declined immediately. Which was a shame when Marie unintentionally kicked a fresh cow deposit on the way back!
We then took a bus to this Hotel in the middle of nowhere... Madhogarh. We though we were just seeing another fort/castle. But no! It was our hotel. It was on top of a hill. I will try and put pictures up soon. Before settling in we took a tour through the tiny town. We visited a few local businesses and took some photos with the locals. That night the guys were in turbans and the girls in Sari's. Actually quite fun, although we all eventually cracked under the heat. Plus there were more important things to do! A local "band" arrived to provide music whilst we ate. Then we all got up and cut some Indian shapes!! Some were better than others. Our tour guide Anuuj showed us how. We had a really fun time! After all that excitement for the day we were all thoroughly exhausted, some with dodgy insides were worse off but we had had an awesome day.
In other news again
I have MASTERED the art of giving the evil eye to people who try and bother me with useless toys etc. They tend to prey and the white people. I think they also believe I am Indian. Many ask.
