Sydney 4
Had a seaplane flight booked for the following morning so made our way to Circular Quay to catch a ferry to the sea plane terminal in Rose Bay. Arrived early so went for a stroll across the park to the tennis club and had a coffee in a fab café overlooking the bay.
Boarded the sea plane and took off for most proved to be a most fantastic flight taking in the coastline to Bondi beach as well as the harbour with an amazing and different perspective of the Harbour Bridge and opera house. Incredible landing onto the sea which brought us back to Rose where we travelled back on the ferry to the harbour for a great walk around the botanical gardens with its stunning flora and fauna.
Carried on for a tour around the opera house tour which guided us around the various theatres/venues and told of the years of construction that led to the completion of Sydneys most iconic structure.
Of course we could not come to Sydney without visiting the original 'Doyle's' seafood restaurant (Est 1885)…. So back on the ferry to Watson's Bay (so cool and cheap to travel over the harbour). We arrived a little too early for the dinner service so went for a stroll along the bay and over the peninsula to Camp cove - gorgeous! We had such a superb meal at Doyles; table on the beach with probably some of the best seafood we've had so far.
Missed the last ferry back but took to the local bus which was brilliant as followed the fabulous coast road back to the city - great result!
Have so loved Sydney and shame to leave but looking forward to Ayers Rock tomorrow.
