how amazing! we just cannot get over what we have seen whilst over here. everything we have done has made for a trip that we will never forget. the great barrier reef was as good as the pictures on postcards and the colourful fish and coral were breathtaking (unfortunately the pics don't really do it justice). we had a really good day out, the boat we went on was really impressive, we ate gorgeous food all day and managed to get out snorkelling on the reef for about 5 hours. on the reef we found nemo and most of his friends and fortunately no sightings of sharks. as it has been all the way up from cairns the weather was around 30 degrees with very little winds so it made for a really beautiful day.
we're back in cairns now for a couple of nights before we head off for our trek into the outback. not a huge amount to do here in cairns but hayley occupied with sun and shops so all is good. we have even bought ourselves an original eucaliptus painted digeridoo for a house warming gift for when we move in together (don't worry pops not moving out just yet, plenty of time for collection of board and lodgings!).
we're catching a flight from cairns to alice springs on monday so will be out of communication for a week or so. both really looking forward to the outback, sleeping in the open next to a camp fire in the middle of knowwhere. suposedly the milky way is clearly visible when you are out there.
hope everything is good back home and the preparations for christmas haven't taken over yet. we actually saw some christmas cards in the shops over here and it didn't seem right at all - christmas in the sun!
speak soon guys. love both of us xxxxxxxxxxxx
