Arrived Gillards Beach in Mimosa Rocks National Park on Monday 20th Feb. Weather cloudy with southeasterly winds . No banks to surf, very much a fishermans beach. Beautiful camp sites though, very secluded and grassy. Animals sighted include sea eagles-2.., bandicoot -1.,grey kangaroos - many, goannas -1 and those unseen- possible bush rat or dunnart that took a liking to the rubber on our drain and kept us awake on a sort of guerilla war for most of Tuesday night-1.
Oscar refused to do school on Tuesday and went off hellbent on making friends. He met a nice family from a property in Victoria with two boys around the same ages and they played for a couple of hours. It actually rained quite a lot on tuesday and so we escaped the camp to go to Bega to see if we could sort out our failing internet dongle at the Telstra shop.
Following the successful resolution of the problem, we had a truly spectacular meal at a restuarant called Fat Tony's - a long lived local gem of a place much patronised by the SHAGS boys ( Shoalhaven Heads Aged Gentlemans Side rugby team) on their annual trip away to Tathra. They have great taste those aged gentleman!
