Tobes on the Go!
Ok, so for my last day in Sweden I was determined to see one more sight that I had on my 'must do' list - the Skansen Museum and the Skansen Aquarium on Djurgarden, an island on the eastern edge of the city. It's the world's oldest open-air museum and was great to see. From a recreated Swedish village to Lemurs, Brown Bears, Anacondas and Wild Boars... it really was a unique experience. Not to mention the view back over the city.
After that and collecting my bags (thanks for showing me 'round Marten), I had to finally hunt out THAT CD Matt - and thanks to the ever helpful Swedes (trying to tell me I had the wrong CD when I held it in my hands!) I was nearly late for the airport bus - no big deal you say? Well, they use the term 'a Stockholm airport' loosely when they describe Skavsta Stockholm as its about 100km and an 80 min coach ride away, but hey my Ryanair fare to Sweden was £0.50 each way (plus taxes etc), so who's complaining?
It was a quick flight back into London-Stansted despite having to do some 'laps' due to congestation at the main budget airport in London and we touched down about 15 mins earlier than the 2000 hrs (GMT) scheduled.
From there the 40-odd minute train trip to Liverpool St and then the Tube back to Clapham North meant I was at Ferndale Road before 2200 hrs.
Some time after that Kirsty and I came up with the bright idea of me going down to the off-licence to get some soft drink which resulted in 1) soft-drinks falling off a high shelf as I tried to get some down; 2) at least one sconing me fair on the head; 3) me receiving a cut above my left eye for my troubles; and finally on returning to Kirsty's flat 4) having all the girls laugh continuously at my predicament. That's what you call gratitude.
