Phew that was a hectic week! Cambodia in 5 days! Then back to Bangkok for some drinking!
Cambodia was awesome! Extremely varied in terms of experiences..saw lots of stuff from magnificent temples to horrific sites on which thousands of people were murdered...
Siem Reap was the first stop after the worst bus/taxi journey on a crazy bumpy road (over 3 hours to go 150km!) Went to Angkor (World heritage sight) loads of temples - some massive, some tall and some stunning with trees growing in and around them. Took over 100 photos but didnt want to wait for them all to download so just a couple on here. Awesome day - definitely recommend! Crazy to think that they were all built around 11/12th Century...
Next was Phnom Penh, home of Tuol Sleng museum and the infamous Killing Fields..very grounding experience which made us both quite confused and angry that these people got away with slaying millions of innocent people pretty much like the nazi's did, but this was in the 1970's...horrific sights and quite a surreal day. Glad we went though.
Now we're back in Bangkok, happy to have not been bitten by any Mosquitos in Cambodia (thanks to garlic tablets and 95% DEET repellent). Found an outdoor gym in Lumphini park (20Baht a session - 30p) so that was cool..off to Phuket on a night bus tomorrow evening..cant wait to lie down on a beach again :)
