Dean and Claire's t'internet travel journal
Well, we've been in Vietnam for almost a week, and it has to be said that I think this country is really beautiful.
We spent the last two days in Hoi An; definitely one of my favourite places of the trip. No, not for it's beautiful white sands (Though always a bonus!) nor for the local sites, but instead, for the shopping! How deep I am! I'm all about the culture me.
There are over 200 tailors in Hoi An, who provide tailor made clothes at an amazing speed and an amazing price. How can I resist? I didn't. Somehow, somehow, I ended up with 3 pairs of trousers, 4 shirts, 2 winter coats (Well you know how cold it is in England...) 1 jacket and 1 dress. I was particularly impressed with the dress, which I completely designed myself. Very cool.
We have been travelling through Vietnam on the buses, making 12 hour journeys nearly every other night, which gets a bit wearing, but i'm learning to sleep in all sorts of cramped positions (always a good skill to have) Most of the buses are comfortable, though almost always lacking in toilet facilities, which means Dean and I have to starve ourselves of any liquids and end up with dehydration headaches. We are also routinely subjected to dodgey vietnamese pop music, which booms around the bus at full volume. Am I selling it to you yet?
