6 Days in Lanta Island from 17th – 24th Feb.

A brief synopsis of our time here as we are sure you will be bored by our action packed days on the beach and in the bars, drinking, eating, swimming and sleeping : -).

Stayed in a lovely little beach Bungalow (also shared by the biggest cockroach in the world!!!) and chilled A LOT on the beach and in the lovely bars and restaurants littering the beach.

Spent a day out in Phi Phi island drifting between the beautiful beaches on a traditional long boat stopping at Maya bay (where the film “the beach” was filmed) for snorkeling and lunch. Also visited monkey beach which is now Adam’s favourite place in the whole world!! Not only was it festooned in monkeys but they were beer loving monkeys!!!

Also hired a moped for the day and went exploring round the island (Lanta) to less populated villages, beaches and bars with Liam. Mong bar – super friendly slightly mad Thai man called Mong if you hadn’t guessed, trying to convince us to eat monkey brains and cobra blood – apparently it makes you very strong and gives you great ideas……..judging by the menu including mushroom shakes etc and the huge spliff he was smoking we thought the effects would probably be less than subtle and probably not legal either so we politely declined. Mong was pretty insistent but eventually gave up in exchange for me letting him spear a Satsuma of my head with a cobra spear!!! Later the same day we had a very wobbly ride up a very steep mud hill to an amazing bar atop the cliffs to watch the sunset…..Perfect. Rounded off with a huge Tapas goodbye feast with Liam and Jess in the evening.

To sum up Lanta…….Beautiful, peaceful, chilled out Chang time!!!!
