Arrived in Singapore to a complete contrast to home, that being sunshine and 30 degree temperatures!! One thing that was not different was the cost of everything. Singapore is very expensive, we managed to blow a weeks budget in 2 days!!!!
But anyway..... We had a very comfortable flight over on one of the new super jumbo's (A380 for the geeks)!! Was cool to experience, but to be honest the only real noticiable difference inside was a larger in flight entertainment screen, leg room was pretty good too...
Thurs 5th Feb: Went straight to bed for a few hours in preparation for the night safari in the evening. Night safari was awesome, obviously was a zoo at night with many nocternal animals displayed. Trish was particularly fond of the Deer mouse which looked just like a deer but was the size of a kitten, to quote Trish "its the cutet thing i have ever seen!" I prefered the black Rhino for obvious manly reasons!!! Had a very interesting experience of a fish spa, which involved putting your feet into a tank full of doctor fish. The fish then swarm around your feet and eat off any dead skin, or really anythiung that shouldnt be there! Absolutely amazing, our feet have never looked so good, and as most of u know my feet are pretty grim!
Fri 6th Feb: First job was to book a bus onto Kuala Lumnper in Malaysia, certainly couldnt afford another day in Singapore. Booked bus successfully and headed to the famouse 5 star hotel raffles for a Singapore Sling Cocktail! This was a very tasty drink but costed 11 quid each! We did our own little city tour, went to Clarke Quay for a beer and then headed to China town. China town trip was cut short by the tropical rain storm that moved in, when it rains here it really means business! Spent the evening in little india which we didnt really like, lots of men gawping at trish and many shady looking characters about!!
Singapore was a nice clean city, the transport system was very good and that was about the cheapest thing!
