Tim, Chris and Edd´s And James's Long Ol' Adventur
Bula ALL!!!
Hows you all doing. So like the nice guy i am, i'll let Edd and Chris keep using the site, which if i may remind you two i'm actually paying for!!! but thats the kinda guy i am!!
Anyway, james and i are so much more interesting and exciting so nobody will really read your stuff anyways, not to mention look at your ugly mugs!! Seriously though boys, glad you having fun and not killing each other yet? hows the 4 month/ 2 month situation?
Anyways, back to me!(and James) We arrived in Fiji on 22nd April. Well James arrived here at 5 in moring after a long flight from LA and was then told by Cranston (th guy who is our leader here) he would have to wit till 3pm till I got in. so coming from 3 months skiing to 35degree humid Fiji!! and he was stuck in his trousers.
So yeah, when we eventually all got there, we had a 3 hour ride to Suva from Nadi. In a very very loud minibus with a good 3 subs and 6 6x9's pumping out cool tunes like UB40 and atomic kitten.
We arrived at our house at about 6ish and met a couple of the guys. Settled in, had a chat with the others, only 4 others at this point. Then we went on a booze run!! Fantastic fun. It is illegal for offlicenses to sell booze after 6, but just down the road is 'Joseph's'' , an illegal offy, that you go to the metal lattice work, order your drink and pay, then go sit back in your taxi, (whihc is dirt cheap) and wait unitl a man runs to your taxi, throws in the drink and the taxi speeds away!! What a first experience. Later that night, we went tp Traps club for Donny's last night. Really cool, with shots of beer, but James and I were prety shattered, and had earned enough Kudos points for coming out on first night we headed back.
Next days was Sunday. In Fiji reliogion is number one so nothing happends, so we all just went to the Holiday Inn and chilled out round the pool.
Monday, we were thrown to the lions! Sent to BK school, the poorest in Suva, 10 fijian dollars a year. about 3 pound. BUt it was such good fun. All the 5/6 year old kids ran out and immediatley we were being hugged, kids holding our hands and giving us hi fives! no coaching to be done here, just messing about. utter carnage. We spent about 30 mins spinning kids rond holding onto their arsm, witht he constant murmurings of the other 15 surrounding us going me, me, me and their sweet little faces looking up at us!! such good fun.
The next couple of days have actually involved some hockey. Coaching, mainly girls at loads of different schools. It has been such good fun. they are all so sweet, even if dead cheeky. we also have been training in evenings with the two tops Fijian teams, whihc consist of 5 and 8 Fijian national players, so having a real good knockabout and finess session with them. Anyway this has gone on for ages, and we gotta go pack because we are going to vanua Levu now for 5 nights to coach kids who have never seen white people. But for last time about 4 weeks ago! so loads of white beaches.
Ohh last thing, Fijian drink stuff called Kava! tastes like muddy water and is a mild narcotic. basically it is a root plant, very odd stuff, but really relaxing. (dont worry, it not drugs!)
Anyways, take care, timxx
