Hey, As u guys are probably aware by now, there has been a parting of the ways! Chris is somwhere down in Malaysia or may be Thailand by now and i'm up here in Hong Kong staying with Li. Li being the nice guy that he is has given over to me his second house so i've got my own place right in the heart of Laguna City. After trying to sort out my China visa which took about 4 hours of waiting due to the seething masses of people in the line ahead of me. I've been doin the usual sightseeing stuff and doin my best to speak a bit of the local language which aint Mandarin Chinese but Cantonese! So i got no chance - have subsequently reverted to the old extravegent gestures and furious arm waving which they seem to understand fine. Also somehow managed to get myself stuck in a 'no smoking' campaign thing. Was just walking by and was suddenly surrounded by three girls giving me the 'do the right thing' speech. I almost expected Ned Flanders' wife to pop up and say, 'will somebody please think of the children!' Anyway by the time i was finished chuckling to myself over my own wit i found myself infront of a camera holding a mike with ppl around expecting my to get really angry and diss smoking like the other guy was doing! Neways in a couple of days im off up into China, doin a bit of solo travel, which i have been informed is just down right dangerous (Li) especially as im goin off the beaten track a litlle with nothin more than my trusty lonely planet for backup! No worries. Still i guess i'll live and learn, or as an American guy was telling me, you learn because you live! Due to my amazing ability to change my plans whennever the hell i feel like it, i may also be off to Mongolia! It was a sort of spur of the moment, well why not? Still it should all be real good fun - can't wait. Edd
