Up early to get tent down so we could go shopping at the local market before breakfast. We both came away with a number if beautiful hand carved wooden artifacts.
We drove to the nearest large town where our first stop was at a market to buy second hand clothes for fancy dress. We pulled a name out of a hat & that's who we were buying fancy dress for. Second stop was at a brand new supermarket. We had to get supplies for 4 days. There was a lot to choose from - quite head spinning. We indulged in freshly baked pies and donuts.
Further driving took us to another craft market. Here I traded my antique i-phone & i-pod for a beautiful hand carved table that will sit in my lounge as a stunning reminder of this adventure. We also broke the bracelet boundary with 2 each ... watch us become bejewelled ;-)
We arrived at Kande Beach at about 1500 hours. Our campsite is on the waterfront. Tessa & I went paddling in the 3rd largest lake in Africa (known as the "calendar" lake as it is 365 miles long by 52 miles wide). We then sat at the bar drinking shandy & eating our donuts. A perfect moment.
