Hey well this has been a long gap between my blogs, the main reason is I've been travelling so much time has gotten away from me. The last time I wrote I was in Nepal still well I'm now in Indonesia. So ill write a blog for each country I have visited.
I decided that I would fly to Bangkok and head south to Malaysia. So I took a flight and soon realised how much more expense Thailand is now. I was spending £25 a day. When we arrived in the city it was the king's birthday that weekend. OMG it was so busy, we couldn't get anywhere near Khao San Road. I met up with two German lads who seemed a bit naïve to Asia. So I helped them as much as I could and in return they saved me a fortune on the taxi. We ended up walking 2km to the hotel. My backpack weighs 18.5kg and I can tell you I was in pain when we got there.
I had a few nights in Bangkok and went out partying, had a great laugh with 2 English guys and one English girl. I've been to Bangkok 5 times and never really took the time to have a look round. The Palace was great and the gold leaf they use to decorate it, does make the place really stand out. I walked round with one English lad called Tom who at the time I was sharing a room with.We had read that there was a really cool statue of a Buddha that was huge, so we went in search. Finally we saw the entrance at the end of a back alley and made our way down. I was in front and as we got about half way down,2 dogs just came from nowhere. I just froze but knew to stand my ground, I crouched down hit the first dog on the nose, then turned and ran. I didn't know at the time, that as soon as Tom had heard the dogs he had turned and ran, as I got to the start of the alley I just saw Tom on the floor knocked out? He had hit his head on a low doorway that was at the start of the alley. I shouted and he came round. He stood up and blood was gushing from his head. I threw him some toilet roll and went to grab a local. The locals soon got him in the back of a truck and took him to an ambulance (there are no emergency services in Bangkok). He was taken to hospital and given 10 stiches, some antibiotics and a bill for £10 pounds haha ( cheap hey). About 2 hours later we made it to the Buddha but what a day, as far as I know he's fine, the worst thing was it was only his second day travelling, I would have gone home. :)
After that I booked a train to Malaysia and headed for the border, but it was an eventful few days in Thailand I can tell you. lol
